SOVEREIGN LEGACY INITIATIVE
Leadership. Purpose. Legacy.
Building Tomorrow’s Leaders From Today’s Grit
Our Vision
To raise a generation of teens who lead with purpose, live with integrity, and leave a legacy that changes the world.
Our Mission
To equip teenagers with leadership, life skills, mentorship, education, and community service that create lasting impact.
Rural southeastern New Mexico faces real challenges: limited after-school programming, economic volatility, and gaps in positive mentorship. Many youth spend their evenings unstructured, struggle academically, and never get exposed to leadership pathways. SLI meets them where they are — and walks with them toward who they can become — by filling high-risk hours with purposeful activity, consistent mentorship, and proven character training.
The Seven Pillars
Every SLI program is built on seven pillars of character — the foundation of the Legacy Leadership Academy.
Leadership
Lead yourself and others with confidence and accountability.
Responsibility
Take ownership of your choices and actions.
Service
Make a positive impact through community involvement.
Integrity
Live with honesty, respect, and strong moral character.
Vision
Set goals and create a purpose-driven future.
Resilience
Build strength to overcome challenges and bounce forward.
Legacy
Leave a lasting impact that inspires others.

Our Partners
We work side by side with the people and organizations shaping Lea County youth.
By the Numbers
We measure what matters: program completion and certification rates, academic improvement in grades and attendance, service hours completed, leadership roles assumed, and pre/post growth in self-confidence, values internalization, and future orientation. Annual reports and participant success stories keep us accountable to our youth and our supporters.
Invest in today’s teens. Build tomorrow’s legacy.
